Examinations are provided within the cost of the course, and in two forms:
1. Theory exams take place at an independent test centre, and are computer-based. These exams are booked using an authorisation code provided by NACE and are booked via the NACE website at a test centre of the candidate's choosing. There are hundreds of CBT test centres throughout the world, and around 150 centres in the UK. A complete list of the centres can be found at www.nace.org
2. Practical exams, based on using inspection equipment, are held at the end of each course.
Candidates must successfully complete both examinations to gain their course completion certificate leading to Certification within the NACE CIP system.
Resit Examinations
Within 12 months of a failed exam there is the possibility – with two attempts possible – of retaking the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) examinations without retaking the course. This involves attendance at a CBT examination centre. Examination resits are booked via your NACE online profile at www.nace.org. While there is no charge for taking CBT examinations for the first time, resit attempts cost US $150.00 each.
Candidates who fail the practical examination (taken at the end of the course) must re-attend a similar course for resit examination. The cost of this resit is 75% of the original course fee.
To register for a resit (practical) examination, please send email to training@tci-eu.com and state the chosen date. We will invoice based on registration details that we already hold. If those details have changed, please complete another registration form, which can be downloaded from this website. (www.cip3.co.uk).
