Es-Cha Hut loop:
LaPunt (from our lodging) -> Madulain -> Alp Es-cha Dadour -> Val Mura -> Es-Cha hut.
Just over 3000' up gentle valley, with switchbacks over last mile
Blue skies turned to clouds from over Piz Ketsch, with afternoon showers predicted.
Decided not to go up and over pass to Ketsch Hut (save it for another day).
Looped back on hohenweg and trail down waterfalls at end of valley back to Dadour.
Took secondary trail about 1000' above valley floor above Madulain and wrapped ridge back to LaPunt.
Descended on secondary trails and through fields back to town.
Over 6000 feet +/-; in just over 8.5 miles; and zero leg fatigue.
Definitely ready for some longer hikes down in the Dolomites.
Frank and Steve cooked nice meal (huge can of Ravioli and noodles; veggies; etc.)
