Drive Vna down to Scuol. Bus up to S'Charl to trail head for Val Minger (which passes through the heart of the southern Swiss National Park). Pics (first half are Scuol; last half are Val Minger hike)

• Trail head (5600'). 70 minutes up to Surfil Pass (7750') ... about 1400' per hour.
• Continue Val Minger down to Tasasp -> back to Scuol (4100').
  • 11 miles (23,000 steps); ~6000' elev gain/loss. Nice to have altimeter and pedometer.
  • 6 hours. Includes picture stops and lunch break. Very little leg fatigue, and we're all feeling good.
• Met family with 9 and 13 year old doing the same hike. Wonderful to see this. They were actually running up near the pass.
