Drive from the Dolomites (Italy) back to central Switzerland to visit the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.
- Frank bent over in pain when he woke up. Kidney stones? Yep.
- Drove from Selva to Bolzano and up to Zernez (thru the Swiss Nat. Park)
- Drove over Albula Pass and wound up to Chur, where we stopped at a Hospital.
- Emergency team gave him morphine and he felt better. Then scanned and saw stone about 90% passed. Waited 4 hours.
- Got place to stay in old-town: JBN Hotel. Sketchy part of town, but pretty good accomodations.
- Picked up Frank later that night and with the pain pills he was just fine.
NOTE: all of the services provided to Frank in the emergency room, including medications, were ZERO dollars.
- The hospital staff were all very accommodating and one can only wish our nation could offer similar professional services as an integral part of our infrastructure.
