What is ACCESS?
Accessibility Coordination Center and Educational Support Services (ACCESS) supports students with verified disabilities by determining and providing reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services.
Accommodations or services do not happen automatically. Students are responsible for requesting these services for each class, each semester.
Some accommodations they provide are alternative media formats, adaptive furniture, assistive equipment, note-taking services, registration assistance, sign language interpreters, specialized learning skills classes, specialized academic and disability counseling, and test taking accommodations. This is not a comprehensive list.
Videos and handouts for students
The disability may be a visible one, such as vision, hearing, or mobility, or it may be an invisible disability such as dyslexia or another type of learning disability, an attention disorder, a chronic health issue, or a speech or psychological disorder.
In order for ACCESS to authorize services, an appropriate professional must verify the disability in writing. This could be a letter from your physician, a private or school psychologist's report, or authorization from another professional trained to diagnose the disability.
Complete and submit Application
Complete and submit Intake Screening Form

Once Steps 1-3 have been completed, please call (805) 378-1461 and set up and Intake Appointment with the ACCESS office.
