This page allows the user to build a customized playlist from the videos discovered in the MicroPi's download directories.
In the image at left, the system searched the memory and discovered 74 video files.
Search term/Filter Search This limits the included videos to those which have the search term in their filenames. This allows a list to be created of a particular language. A string can be entered. Only videos having this string contained in their filenames will be selected. Multiple search terms can be indicated by the use of intervening operators. In this case, surround the terms with single quotes.
\| - Logical OR
.* - Logical AND
Example:
This search term will include all videos having "zaw" OR "zai" in their filenames.:
'zaw\|zai'
This search term will include only videos having "zaw" AND "Jn" in their filenames, in that order:
'zaw.*Jn'
Count of videos in playlist This indicates the number of content videos to be included on the generated list. This defaults to the entire number of videos discovered in the search, but may be reduced as desired. The entire playlist may be longer than this number due to the inclusion of promotional videos.
Start/Stop times. If included, these terms will cause all videos to be begun at "Start Time" and ended at "Stop Time".
Salt Promos - This term allows videos on the promotional list to be interleaved into the main playlist. This number is interpreted as the number of downloadable content videos to be shown in series before a promotional video is shown. Promotional videos can be thought of as "commercials".
Example:
Entering "4" in the Salt parameter field will make every fifth video a promotional video. Promotional videos are chosen in order from the PromoVideos folder. In this case four content videos are shown followed by the first promo video. The tenth video shown will be the second promo video, the fifteenth will be the third promo video, etc.
C1, C2, C3, C4, P1, C5, C6, C7, C8, P2, C9, C10, C11, C12, P3, . . .
If the salt parameter is left as zero, there will be no interleaving of videos and all of the promotional videos will be shown together in a group at the end of the main playlist.
Three different overlays are possible. Only one per playlist is currently possible. If no overlay is desired, choose "Text" and delete the text string.
The size, color position and content of the text can be changed. Color is indicated in web compatible RGB format. See this tool to generate codes for desired colors. Note that the proper formatting is required ,"0x" followed by six hexadecimal digits.
QR codes are generated automatically from the URI of the currently showing video. This dialog allows screen position and relative size to be adjusted. Note that the screen area used by the codes is proportional to the video resolution. The apparent size will change with differing video resolutions. The codes will occupy more screen area on low resolution videos than on high resolution videos.
These are stored icons which may be overlaid on the videos as they are shown. Note that icons are displayed proportionally to the resolution of the video. Thus they will occupy more screen area on low resolution videos than on higher resolution videos.
If it is desired to include a custom icon, contact the developers at micropi@sil.org.
