Fourth Year

Hi, I’m George Tsialiamanis, and I'm the fourth-year tutor for Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering. As you progress through this final stage of your degree, I’m here to support you with academic or personal challenges you may encounter.

During this year you will also have to complete your final year projects and it might seem challenging, but staff members are here to help you. In most cases you can discuss problems with the module leaders or your personal tutor. However, if you need further advice don’t hesitate to reach out.

Tutoring

PhD Study - The department's current postgraduate research students are working on a wide range of projects, and they are vital to our success in research.

Year 4 Tutorial Groups - You can find your tutorial group using the spreadsheet linked here.

Completion at Level 4

MEng awarded if:

You achieve a pass mark (above 40) in MEC401 Individual Project at the first attempt.

AND

You achieve 360 credits from Levels 2, 3 & 4 combined.

At the exam board’s discretion, 320 credits with at least 90 from Level 3 & 4 modules and a weighted GPA of no less than 49.5.

OR (to be awarded a Pass degree without Honours)

With permission of the external examiner achieve 280 credits in Levels 2, 3 & 4.
