We ask our academic supervisors to come up with titles and descriptions for Engineering projects they think sound interesting and exciting, and that they would like to supervise. We then share this list of projects with all our students and ask you to tell us the ones you are most interested in. Once we’ve collected all your preferences, we aim to give each of you one of your top six choices. This means all our students should end up working on something they’re genuinely interested in.
How should I choose make my project choices?
There’s no right or wrong way to make your project choices. Some of our students try to choose projects related to the jobs they would like to work in after graduating, while some choose simply based on what sounds most interesting. It can be a good idea to pick projects in areas you think you’re good at, but you can also plan your optional modules to relate to your project.
Year in Industry students - If you would like to undertake an industry based project with your year in industry placement provider, then please discuss this with the project leader, Dr Jen Rowson.
