If you are unsure of anything, the first place that you should go to seek help is the MEC Student Support Office. It is located in the Sir Frederick Mappin Building, Engineering Heartspace, room D010, D Floor. You can find us on the Campus Map under number 210 in square H3.

All staff are extremely welcoming and are able to answer more complicated queries concerning your course and are there to help you with advice and practical support when you need to do something in relation to your studies, such as if you wish to change to another programme. If you wish to see them then no appointment is needed, just turn up!
Your university email account is the primary means of formal communication between staff and student at the University. You will receive emails on your university account from the student support office; please check this regularly as well as using Blackboard and the iSheffield app for details on timetables etc.
Your personal tutor will also contact you at this email from time to time. It is your responsibility to check this daily to see what, if any, changes may be happening to your studies and any meetings you may have. This email address also receives a lot of information regarding University wide events and announcements. Much of this information may be of no interest to you, so you might want to consider unsubscribing from many of the mailing lists you might find yourself on.
