If you are a 2nd year BEng student and wish to transfer onto the MEng course then the procedure is as follows.
Once you have received your Autumn results and you're average is a clear 2.1 or 1st ( i.e. 59.5 and above) with no fails then please discuss any potential switch with your personal tutor. Once agreed, please contact mac-studentsupport@sheffield.ac.uk where the final sign off will come from the Learning and Teaching Manager. If agreed, we will send you the Change of Programme form with instructions on how to complete the form. Once the form is complete please return to mac-studentsupport@sheffield.ac.uk for checking, we will then send it to the University so your record can be amended. You should receive confirmation of the change within 1-2 weeks.
If you are an overseas student then you will firstly need a new ATAS certificate in order to transfer. Once you have your new ATAS certificate then as long as you meet the criteria above then you can apply to switch courses.
If your average is between 54.5-59.5, then you will have to wait until the July results are released. If your average is above 54.5 then you will be invited onto the Meng. However, you will have to ensure you can obtain student Finance with Student Finance England
