We are committed to supporting the wellbeing of all PhD students. One of our key initiatives is the weekly Wellbeing Coffee sessions, held in various parts engineering buildings. These casual meetups provide a relaxed space to chat with peers—whether you want to discuss challenges with supervision, working conditions, or simply take a break from research and talk about something different. Sharing your experiences with fellow students can make all the difference.
In addition to these sessions, we are mindful of the broader challenges faced during PhD life. While many of us have positive experiences with supervision, we recognise that problems need to be addressed seriously. We're exploring ways to tackle these issues, including organising a writing retreat—as writing papers is one of the most important (and sometimes stressful) aspects of PhD life.
We also believe that time in nature plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, so we're planning outdoor activities to help you unwind and recharge.
