Aside from select sessions, all teaching on the DClinPsy programme is delivered in person.
If you need to deliver your teaching session remotely, we offer access to Class Collaborate (via Blackboard), an online browser-based webinar tool designed to facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Class Collaborate allows you to:
Deliver live, interactive sessions: Engage with trainees through audio, video, chat, polls, and breakout groups.
Pre-record sessions: Record your audio and video alongside your slides.
Share content: Present slides, share your screen, and display other materials.
Use digital facilitation tools: Access features like chat, content sharing, presentations, polls, and breakout rooms.
Getting Started
To arrange temporary access to Class Collaborate, request more information, or schedule an online tour, please liaise with the specialism lead or contact our admin team: (dclinpsy@sheffield.ac.uk).
Learn More
To learn more about the tool, you can access the following web link to access a series of Class Collaborate Guide(s) hosted by the University of Sheffield.
Sharing Handouts and Presentations: Please note that trainees cannot download shared materials directly from Class Collaborate. Kindly send any handouts, presentations, or other resources to the specialism lead or contact our admin team: (dclinpsy@sheffield.ac.uk) prior to your session so they can be distributed accordingly.
Quick Feedback Tool: Participants can provide quick feedback (agree/disagree, faster/slower, happy, sad, surprised, confused) using the icons at the bottom of their screen. This feedback will appear next to their name in the 'attendees' panel.
Sharing Videos: To share a video, use the 'Share Content' option, select 'Share application/screen' or 'Share Entire Screen', and ensure you click 'Allow Audio'. Please be aware that when sharing your entire screen, participants will see everything on your display, so you won't be able to use it for other tasks simultaneously.
Breakout Rooms: Breakout rooms are randomly assigned each time they are created. If you wish for participants to return to the same group later in the session, instruct them to note their room number. You will then need to click 'Allow Attendees to Switch Groups' to enable them to re-join their original rooms.
For the best experience with Class Collaborate, we recommend using Google Chrome. You can download it for free by searching online.

Here are some common issues and known troubleshooting options:
Session stuck on purple loading circle?
Cause: Your browser may have third-party cookies disabled, preventing the Class Collaborate session from loading.
Try: Enable third-party cookies for Class Collaborate in your browser settings or try using a different browser where third-party cookies are enabled.
Error code: J10 / J11
Cause: This is often related to network firewall restrictions when using a work Wi-Fi connection (it is rare with home Wi-Fi).
Try: Use a different Wi-Fi connection to access Class Collaborate or check your network firewall settings with your IT administrator.
Error Code A03
Cause: The session link may be invalid, or the session might not exist.
Try: Double-check that you are using the correct session link. If you are using a guest link, contact the specialism lead or admin team to verify the URL.
Breakout Rooms: For cohorts of 17 or more trainees, smaller group discussions in breakout rooms can be more effective than whole-group discussions, reducing issues like unmuting delays and participants talking over each other. Trainees often find breakout rooms beneficial for increased interaction.
Polls: Use polls to pose questions to trainees. This can be a quicker way to gather responses than live answers and provides an opportunity for quieter participants to contribute.
