Doctoral Development Programme (DDP)

We strongly recommend you view the DDP Portal.  DDP is a flexible training plan which can be tailored to your individual needs. For example, with the agreement of your supervisor, you can attend departmental modules.  For Autumn semester modules, to ensure you do not miss any lectures, we strongly recommend you contact your supervisor prior to your arrival and confirm when the sessions are running.  It is also essential you read the Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes New starters should take particularly notice of the TNA here,  the definitive link and instructions will be made available down the line.

The compulsory elements of DDP are attendance on a Research Ethics and Integrity module and completion of a short presentation during your first year combined with attendance at our Departmental lunch-time seminar series.

For an overview of departmental modules view here.

Your supervisor & other staff

Please do contact your supervisor to arrange a first meeting - contact details are here.

The main point of your first supervisory meeting is to welcome you into the Department, get you more acquainted with expectations and first steps in your research.  This will be a good time to arrange a schedule of meetings with your supervisor.  The second supervisor should also be confirmed at this meeting.

Please do think of any questions, information to share, etc and bring these notes along to your meeting.
