As Dr Melissa Butt is the Chair of World Educational Robotics in the UK and the Founder of Discovery STEM Education. Despite not being able to be an official judge for the competition, she will be keeping a close eye on the entries as she hopes to see them again in future WER competitions.
She works with STEM leaders from 52 countries to develop international STEM programmes and is a member of the EPSRC UK-Robotics and Autonomous Systems (UK-RAS) skills and education strategy group. Her team of STEM education specialists deliver STEM education programmes to young people and provide teacher training to schools in the UK and overseas.
Kelly Stafford
Kelly Stafford is the STEM Ambassador Hub coordinator for South Yorkshire and works closely with STEM Ambassadors, schools & community groups in the region, helping to inspire, engage & enthuse young people in STEM. With a background in Biomedical Science, she has a passion for STEM and volunteers as a STEM Ambassador herself. Kelly recently became interested in robotics after taking part in a WER teacher training session at Discovery STEM.
Francesca Oliver
I'm a Civil Engineer with Civil's experience on large infrastructure projects (Thames Tideway, Thames Water and Crossrail) and also in tunnel segment design. I work with a wide range of software and practical technologies.
David Angrave
David is the Chief Operating Officer at Twinkl, an online educational publisher that provides innovative tools and learning materials to educators around the world. He is passionate about the education sector and continuously explores how new technology and concepts can support educators and enhance learning experiences. David oversees a wide variety of teams at Twinkl, including the dedicated Innovation team who identify and implement the latest opportunities for educators. Recent innovations from Twinkl include ‘Little Red’s Coding Club’, the world’s first-ever augmented reality game for multiple players and ARchitect, an app where children can experiment with forces, materials, friction and surfaces. Through these innovations, David hopes to encourage children to further explore the opportunities within all subjects.
Chris Goodwill
Chris Goodwill is the Commercial Officer for Nexus a leading IT company and Microsoft Partner based in Exeter, Devon. With a background in engineering and telecommunications he also has a passion for STEM and particularly robotics. Together with his daughters he has taken part in robotics competitions using the Raspberry Pi, micro:bit and the Arduino development boards. Chris is a STEM Ambassador volunteering his time at STEM activities for young people - he has judged at Tomorrow's Engineers Robotics Challenge and the UK National Championships for VEX Robotics.
Dr Mohammed Hazim
He is the Chief WER UK judge and postdoctoral robotics researcher at Sheffield University.

As a robotics PhD student they have a keen interest in WER.
Emma Cooke
She is an Applications Engineer at Fairfield Control Systems where they design, build and install industrial control systems. She has worked on projects such as tower bridge which involved the system that opens and closes the bridge. She has a keen interest in robotics and studied a module on automation and robotics at university during my BEng in Electrical Engineering.
Ares Argelia Gomez Gallegos
He has a masters in mechatronics where he developed simple robots.
