Mentor Program

During the 2021-2022 school year, StuCo began a new program to better acclimate our 6th grade Team Reps to being a member of StuCo. This program has become an amazing addition to our club, and it includes the following aspects:

• Each year, 2 Officers (StuCo leaders) are chosen to be Mentors, whose main role as an Officer is to lead the Mentor Program

• Mentors facilitate Mentor Meetings every other Day 2 for the 6th grade Team Reps. During these meetings, the Mentors lead the 6th graders through presentations about various topics, like

  • The ins and outs of StuCo

  • Communication

  • Teamwork

• Mentors also lead the 6th graders through some fun team building and bonding games to make them feel comfortable and a part of the group.

• The Mentors, in turn, grow as leaders as well, as they spend the other Day 2's planning with the StuCo Advisor in order to make their Mentor Meetings effective and memorable.
