This year's EagleTube winners have been decided! First place was Skye Lester, second place was Hanson Cheung, and third place was Emilia Rizzo and Lilah Medeiros! Thanks to all those who participated and voted! To see the winners and all the amazing talents, be sure to watch the video!
Thanks to all the students who came out to participate in our second annual Drawing Competition! We held three rounds with three different prompts, (mythical creature, robot, and free draw) and we saw some truly incredible art! Take a look at some of our pictures and videos to see some fantastic art and fun!
Students were able to make holiday cards for both classmates and staff during our three lunch tables throughout December. This was a fun way to spread some holiday cheer throughout our school community, as StuCo members delivered cards around the school!

Thanks to all those who participated in our Dodgeball Tournament! With 17 teams across all three grade levels, we had some fierce competition and a lot of fun! The champions are as follows:

Thanks to all those who signed up for our annual spring Flag Football Tournament! We had thirteen teams sign up, and they competed over the course of two days after school to show their football skills and determine the best team for each grade level.
This event was a true win-win, because it allowed many of our students to get outside, play a sport they love, and have fun in a friendly competition AND it helped StuCo to raise money that we can use to provide more fun events!
Thanks to all those who participated in our first StuCo-run chess tournament. All participants were able to play three preliminary matches, and then those who had won the most games made it to our knockout round where we were able to crown a champion and runner up. Students did a great job balancing fierce competition and sportsmanship to create a fun and challenging atmosphere. And special congrats goes to Max Moir (champion) and Tom Nguyen (runner up)!

On Monday, February 5th, One Up Games provided our students with a fast-paced, one day, video game extravaganza! We held tournaments for both Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart, and students went head-to-head in two tournament-styled brackets to compete for gaming glory! It was a super fun atmosphere (even with the competitive aspect of the tournament), and we were excited to offer this experience for the 5th year in a row!

Our annual soccer tournament was once again a success, as this year we not only had tournaments for multiple grade levels, but also added a skills competition to provide another opportunity to have fun and win prizes! Thanks to all those who participated, and congratulations to the winners!
With almost 750 individual captions submitted, this was our most popular Meme-It competition yet! Our committee narrowed down each day's list to our top five, our school community got a chance to vote on each of these finalists, and we are now happy to announce the winners of our 4th annual Meme-It Competition. StuCo held it's first ever Lip Synch Battle in April, and we had some amazing and memorable performances by students from all three grade levels. From Kay Perry to Journey, we had some fun and classic pop songs lip synched by students who went up on stage complete with props and costumes to "sing" these legendary songs for their classmates. It was truly a one-of-a-kind event, and we look forward to holding another one in the future!

Our first ever one-day Dodgeball Tournament was a huge success! With 64 total participants divided over 8 teams, players got a chance to play in at least three games, including our final knockout tournament. Thanks to all those who participated, and we hope to see you at our next tournament-styled event!

Thanks to all those who participated in our 2022 Hoops 4 Heart Basketball Tournament! Through the participation of students from all three grades, we were able to raise $700 for the American Heart Association! Though we had to navigate multiple rescheduled dates due to weather, the Soccer Tournament was a huge success! We had a great final day on Wednesday, November 3rd, and students seemed to have had a great time enjoying friendly competition. We even had an "all-star" game for the 7th & 8th grade champions! Congrats to the 6th grade champions, The Knockouts, the 7th grade champions, Fuego FC, and the 8th grade Champions, the Mega Ducks!
The Soccer Tournament champions, like the Flag Football champions, will be able to design their very own championship T-shirts! Also, the champions will get their names (and team names) forever placed on the Soccer Tournament Trophy!
The SMS StuCo would also like to thank the many SHS volunteers who gave their time and soccer knowledge by helping to referee on both days of our tournament! We could have have had such a successful event as this without your help! Thank you!
Thanks to all those who signed up, participated, and attended our Flag Football Tournament! We were able to raise money for Student Council AND enjoy some fun and competitive football games! The championship teams were as follows: Grade 6 - Mean Blazers, 7th Grade - Germ, 8th Grade - Flaming Flags.
Thank you so much to all who participated in our SMS Video Game Day! It took place Monday the 27th of September after school at 2:15-3:45 in the cafeteria. The company One Up Games had ten video game stations with games like Mario Kart, Rocket League, and Super Smash Brothers! And they also had a VR station! We had over 100 students attend, and it was amazing to see everyone enjoying some friendly gaming! We hope to see you at our next gaming event in the near future!
With our very virtual year winding down, StuCo thought it would be fitting to have a Virtual Escape Room! We've created a Google Form "Escape Room" where students (either in teams or as an individual) must solve riddles, answer questions, and finish challenges in order to complete the Escape Room! This event will be held on Zoom! We've created a fun story and some challenging and exciting tasks, and we hope you will join us on Wednesday, June 9th @ 1:00pmto participate! Please see the event flyer hereas it has all of the details, including a link to a sign up form (which all participants must fill out in order to attend). Lastly, the winners (who finish the Escape Room the fastest and most accurately) will each receive a $25 gift card to their favorite "virtual" locations!

Our annual Video Game Tournament was played over two separate remote Wednesdays this year (in February and March) with a Fortnite Tournament followed by a 2v2 Rocket League Tournament! We had over 100 students particpate in these tournaments, and winners received PayStation or XBOX gift cards as prizes! We are always super thankful for One Up Games hosting and facilitating these events for us, and we look forward to our tournaments next year!
We'd like to thank everyone who participated in our Community Night last week. We had students from SMS and our elementary schools join us for some holiday crafting as we made paper snowflakes! Check out the photo of our Zoom event!
Check out the flyer attached to see the results of our SMS Mask Design Competition! Thanks to all who participated! Our winner of the mask design competition was Marena Chen, whose Among Us mask was the winner of our vote. However, Student Council was informed that the creators of Among Us have requested that we do not sell anything that represents their game or characters since we do not hold the rights to them. Therefore, while Marena has won the competition and earned the prizes, the first runner up, Le-Yuan Yin, will have his mask used for our community mask ordering (mask shown here) Also, if you'd like to order our winning mask, use this Google Form to place your order! (Remember to read all of the instructions carefully about payment and picking up masks!)
