Hello! My name is Jeff Draves and I teach AP World History here at Viera High School.  I helped open Viera High School back in 2006 and have taught here every day since we've been open.  I have wanted to be a teacher my whole life.  Ironically, many teachers tried to talk me out of pursuing this profession, but the call kept ringing.  After 4 years in the USAF I decided to follow my passion and answer the call.  I have a passion for this.  I teach students. Not Social Studies, not History, but young adults.  I take the role of helping these students reach their fullest potential.  On top of teaching, I am also the senior class sponsor, Social Studies Department chair and AP Liaison for teachers and students.  I believe, that with a cooperative, threat-free environment, EVERY student has the potential to learn.  I believe that students are better off in my class, than outside of it.  I challenge my students, and myself, to bring our best every day, to make every day together count.  I teach my students as if they were my own children, because in many ways, they are.
