Have you ever wondered how the government and politics are connected? Or how you can actively participate in the political process? In AP United States Government and Politics, you’ll examine the relationships between the president, Congress, and the Supreme Court, and explore how different political ideologies and opinions shape American politics.
College Equivalent
AP U.S. Government is equivalent to a one-semester introductory college course in U.S. government.
Prerequisites
Students should be able to read a college-level textbook and write grammatically correct, complete sentences.
There are no required prerequisite courses for AP U.S. Government, however, AP World History and/or AP US History are strongly recommended as a precursor to AP U.S. Government.
