Leveling Up, Bridging The Gap
This program prepares 7th grade students, who did not take Pre- Algebra, to take Algebra 1 Honors in 8th Grade. The camp will cover the 6 to 8 standards that were not covered in the Math 2 course.

Aquatic Leadership and Management Training
The Aquatic Leadership and Management Training is an opportunity for participants to learn about maintaining a pool, programming a pool and working with participants. This is a hands on week with the opportunity to earn volunteer hours.

Stroke Technique and Aquatic Sports
The stroke technique and aquatic sports week is for participants who would like to improve their swimming skills including starts, turns and competition knowledge. The afternoon will include learning the sport of water polo and diving. This is a great week to learn skills to try out for a high school swim team.

Linotype Print Project
In this project, students will learn linocut printing techniques to carve intricate designs onto linoleum blocks. They'll experiment with texture, form, and expression, exploring themes of their choice, fostering creativity and technical skill. By the end of the week, students will have their own carved block and a collection of prints.

The Rockledge to Paris is an opportunity to get excited for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games. The week will include participating in various aquatic Olympic activities.

The Inklings
"The Inklings" was a literary group that consisted, most notably, of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis during the initial time of their writing development. They would discuss literature and critique each other's work. This creative writing course will focus on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Students will look at excerpts from their novels as well as the film adaptations. The course will include reading, watching films, discussing the stories, and, finally, writing our own work of original fiction.

Showtime Summer Musical Theater Camp
Let's do a show! We will learn music, acting, and choreography for songs from a Broadway style show; along with some fun Theater games and activities. We will perform a showcase at the end of the week to show our families what we've learned. No experience necessary. Just come willing to learn and have a great time!

Sports camp will allow students the opportunity to create new friends, memories, and skills by competing in sports such as basketball, football and more. Students will learn and practice skills in each sport and then compete in a tournament at the end of the week!

Broadway on the Beach
Welcome to Broadway on the Beach! This theatre camp is geared for current 5th through 8th graders who are interested in learning all of the elements of live performance. Participants will explore the process of developing “triple threat” skills of singing, dance, and theater (along with some improv thrown your way!) We’ll cover auditions, rehearsals and on-camera techniques with mentorship from experienced performers, directors, choreographers. No prior theatre experience is required. Our Beach-themed Musical Theater week will help you develop this story by expanding your vocal technique, character development, dance, and stage presence. Friends and family are invited for a final performance in the beautiful Performing Arts Center, in which each participant will have the opportunity to shine and show off skills learned. Come in and join the fun!

Color Outside the Lines
Become immersed in art-making experiences that place value on the process of creative expression in a relaxed atmosphere. Classes are designed to strengthen skills by experimenting with mixed media, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Students will explore a variety of art genres and discover new observational techniques that will help them improve their artistic abilities.

Lifeguard Certification
The program requires participants to be 15 years of age on the first day. The lifeguard course does not guarantee receiving a lifeguard certification. Participants should be comfortable in the water in both shallow and deep end. Participants will be working independently and as a group which requires communication and teamwork.

Fun with Forensic Science
Practice being a Crime Scene Investigator! You will be practicing observation skills, lifting fingerprints, analyzing blood splatter, analyzing handwriting and much more. Everything is hands on. Day 4 will consist of a practice crime scene that you will use all of your newfound skills to solve. This camp is for beginners who have never taken Forensics Course.

College and Career Readiness
Students will spend one week developing and improving their resumes, interview skills, and college essays. At the end of the week, students should see improvement in both their interpersonal and written communication skills. Additionally, students will walk away with a professional portfolio, complete with a resume, cover letter, and sample essay template. At the end of the week, students should feel confident in their professional skills and more fully prepared to enter both the collegiate and professional work environments.

Learn pottery on the wheel and various hand building techniques with clay! Work with clay to make functional and decorative artwork that will be fired in a kiln and later glazed for you to keep. High school ceramics teacher, Kevin Cook, will guide and teach you to make individual projects.

Basic cake decorating skills will be taught from icing cakes, putting borders on cakes, making different flowers, decorating cupcakes, and color combinations. STEAM Connection Leadership Program
During the 4-day STEAM Connection Leadership Program, students will focus on hands-on science experiments, engineering design activities, and engaging discussions on leadership principles. Students will form authentic connections with other middle school students, work on problem solving skills and become independent learners with a STEAM focus.
Our diverse team of educators have an array of specialties in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Technology, Math, Special Education, Bi-lingual education (English-Spanish) and are experienced in teaching 7th and 8th grade students, including FUN.
Goals: • Increase academic interest in STEAM Careers • Learn the importance of finances, trading, and the global markets • Refine and enhances technology skills by using them daily.
The culminating activity will be a compilation of all the STEAM skills learned which will enhance their self-esteem to become well rounded students.

Culinary Enrichment
This course is a great introduction to the culinary arts. Students will be developing the basic skills of preparing, cooking, presenting, and serving food and beverages, personal productivity, safety and sanitary work procedures, work ethics and recognition, and selection and proper use of tools and equipment. The program provides instruction in culinary concepts, terminology, recipe reading and conversions, safe knife handling and basic nutrition. Students will discover if they have a passion for a rewarding career in the food industry or simply cooking for themselves, family, and friends.

College Prep Bootcamp for Rising Seniors
Are you a rising senior planning to attend college after graduation? Feeling overwhelmed by the complexities of the process? This "boot camp" is designed to lead rising seniors through the many phases of the college search and application process. Targeted sessions will focus on the college search, scholarships, completing the Common Application, requesting recommendations, writing essays and resumes, letters of recommendation, standardized test prep and more. Any rising senior planning to attend a college or university after graduation would benefit from this camp. Mr. Greg Smith, College and Career Specialist at Satellite High School, will guide the instruction along with guest speakers from local and state colleges and universities. Students should come prepared with a copy of their high school transcripts, SAT score reports, and resumes (if they have one).

Introduction to Crochet!
During this hands-on program students will learn how to read patterns, hold a hook, work with yarn, and practice some basic crochet stitches. Beginner projects will be worked on together to build confidence for any future intermediate patterns the students wish to create individually.

Super Savvy Sewing
Have you ever wanted fun accessories that are all your own? Nobody else will have one just like yours. Let’s learn to sew – make it yourself – We will learn how to use a sewing machine to make zipper pouches, headbands, key chain, pull string backpack, pillows, blankets, bottle holders and other fun items to bring back to school next fall.

Water Safety Instructor Course
The WSI program is limited to 10 participants and each participant must be 16 years of age on the first day of class. Certification will allow participants to seek employment as a swim instructor, however, certification is not guaranteed. Participants must be able to swim the following strokes: backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, rudimentary butterfly, and sidestroke.

Crochet Essentials
Explore the art of crochet this summer in our class tailored for middle and high school students! Open to all levels of experience, whether you're a novice or a seasoned crocheter, this class offers a welcoming environment to learn and create. Delve into the basics or refine your skills with guided instruction on stitches and techniques. Everyone is welcome to explore diverse projects ranging from practical washcloths to adorable amigurumi animals, let your creativity flow as you bring yarn to life. All supplies are included, so just bring your enthusiasm and eagerness to craft. Join us for a week of fun and creativity as we crochet our way to beautiful creations and lasting memories!

Creative Canvas
Embark on a journey of artistic exploration and self-expression with ""Creative Canvas,"" a dynamic summer art class designed specifically for rising 5th to 7th graders. Led by experienced instructors, this immersive program offers a vibrant blend of painting and drawing techniques aimed at fostering creativity, honing skills, and igniting passion for the visual arts.
Throughout the camp, students will delve into various mediums, from classic pencil sketches to vibrant acrylic paintings, providing them with a well-rounded understanding of different artistic methods and styles.
Key components of the class include:
1. Fundamental Drawing Techniques: Students will learn the essentials of drawing, including line, shape, form, and perspective. Through a series of fun exercises and projects, they will develop their observational skills and grasp the basics of composition and proportion.
2. Exploring Color Theory: Delving into the world of color, students will discover the principles of color mixing, shading, and contrast. They will experiment with various color palettes and learn how to use color effectively to convey mood and emotion in their artwork.

Snack Making, Block Printing!
This is a cooking and art class! Students will learn how to block print designs and cook simple snacks/fun meals. We will cook something each day, write down the recipe to take home, and work on our blocking printing art project. What is block printing? It is when we carve into a block to create our own stamp.

Summer Sports Camp
We will teach the rules, techniques and skills needed to successfully participate in the following sports and activities. Basketball, volleyball, pickleball and strength & agility training. We will cover and practice the basic rules, strategies and drills needed for each activity in the morning and play games in the afternoon after lunch. This camp is for all students regardless of athletic background or prior experience in a particular sport or activity. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that is school appropriate and bring water or a sports drink to help stay hydrated. Lunch will be provided but they are welcome to bring a light healthy snack if desired. The emphasis will be on having fun and learning something new and not on winning & losing. All ability levels are welcome!

Exploring Art & Painting
We will be learning about famous Artists and trying out their ideas. We will start with Portraits, then Mosaics inspired by Antoni Gaudi. We will also explore Drawing and Painting like famous Artists such as Pablo Picasso & Claude Monet

Living a Healthy Lifestyle
Activities Include: Yoga, meditation, free-weight training, exercise bands, walking, and more.
Lessons Include: Eating a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep, incorporating exercise into your daily routine, how to develop a positive mindset,.. to name a few.
Daily Schedule: We will balance lessons with movement throughout the day. All participants should be prepared to participate in the activities listed. Therefore, tennis shoes and active wear is necessary.
Coach Quintal, Rockledge High School Boys’ Soccer Coach and Algebra 1 Teacher, and his wife Mrs. Quintal, Merritt Island High School English I Teacher and retired volleyball and girls’ soccer coach, will team up to instruct this course on how to live a healthy lifestyle, with the goal of promoting a healthier mental and physical well-being.

This class is designed to get you started in the skills of choosing the correct pattern size; laying out pattern pieces; cutting, pinning and sewing a simple hoodie.

Summer Orchestra Camp
Are you a rising 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th graders who plays violin, viola, cello, or bass in a Brevard County School? Come to Summer Orchestra Camp for team building, building on basic skills of music and fundamentals, and put on a fun concert for your friends and family! This is open to all 5th-8th graders.

Island Summer Band Camp
No experience with band necessary for this camp! Welcome to all students interested in band; this wee- long band intro is full of musical enrichment for students learning a wind or percussion instrument (not strings) with some limited spots for guitar/bass. Here are the courses offered:
Beginning Band; Advanced Band; Jazz Band; Percussion Ensemble
Additionally we will have a performance at the end of the second week and get to have fun themed days, outdoor collaboration, and much more!
