Mythical and Magical Creations!
In this enchanting summer program, young minds will embark on a fantastical journey into the realm of magical creatures and lands. We’ll explore the rich tapestry of mythical beings that have captured human imagination for centuries. Through writing and art-based projects, participants will delve into the mysteries, lore, and creativity surrounding these extraordinary creatures. Put your artistic skills to the test! Design and bring to life your very own mythical creature. Will it have wings, scales, or magical abilities? The choice is yours! Become a wordsmith as you weave tales of adventure, friendship, and bravery. Create short stories, poems, or even mythical creature profiles! Calling all magical 2nd-4th graders! Come inspire and imagine!

The Science of Gardening
In this program students will study seed germination, life cycles, the water cycle, and how math ties into gardening. Each student will then enjoy building their own mini terrarium.

Showtime Summer Musical Theater Camp
Let's do a show! We will learn music, acting, and choreography for songs from a Broadway style show; along with some fun Theater games and activities. We will perform a showcase at the end of the week to show our families what we've learned. No experience necessary. Just come willing to learn and have a great time!

Summer Camp Sing-Along
Gather around the “campfire” and make new friends! At Summer Camp Sing-Along, you will learn how to sing and sign songs using American Sign Language! You will also learn the basics of playing the ukulele to accompany traditional, fun camp tunes. Camp wouldn't be complete without the outdoors, so join us for scavenger hunts, making s'mores in solar ovens, and creating uv paper pictures! Every day centers will give you the chance to explore your creativity with arts and crafts and building challenges. We can't wait for you to join us this summer!

Beyond the Box - Creative Thinking and Problem Solving
This weeklong camp with challenge students to conquer complex problems as a team and work together to find solutions in a creative way. They will work together and use critical thinking skills to create props and a script to solve a fun and creative problem. Students will solve spontaneous problems where they can polish their quick-thinking skills and become better problems solvers while having fun.

Bringing Stories to Life Through STEM
The purpose of this enrichment program is to engage students in stories through read alouds and STEM activities that go along with the stories. Students will learn that storytelling doesn't only mean writing with a pencil and paper or drawing pictures. With fun creative activities and projects that let kids "make" elements of their stories or "tell" their stories in unusual ways, you can combine storytelling with science, technology engineering, and math. Students will be using STEM concepts as they design, craft, build, and share their projects from the stories. The process can be magical, transformative, confidence-building, and a lot of fun!

Fitness Camp Fun and Learning
Participants will take part in a preassessment of fitness to set a baseline score of current fitness levels. They will immerse into ways to improve fitness levels and wellness by exploring goal setting strategies, nutrition, finding variety in exercise choices, and the importance of reflection and reassessment of goals when improving fitness levels. An understanding of the five components of fitness, as well as science connections, will also be intertwined in the curriculum. Successes will be celebrated with medals on the last day of Camp!

Exploring the Jamaican Culture Through the Arts
Join us as we explore about the diverse and uniqueness of the Jamaican Culture and how it compares to the American Culture. We will spend the summer focusing on the A in STEAM -THE ARTS. Learn through songs, dance, culinary , artwork and literature.

Broadway on the Beach
Welcome to Broadway on the Beach! This theatre camp is geared for current 5th through 8th graders who are interested in learning all of the elements of live performance. Participants will explore the process of developing “triple threat” skills of singing, dance, and theater (along with some improv thrown your way!) We’ll cover auditions, rehearsals and on-camera techniques with mentorship from experienced performers, directors, choreographers. No prior theatre experience is required. Our Beach-themed Musical Theater week will help you develop this story by expanding your vocal technique, character development, dance, and stage presence. Friends and family are invited for a final performance in the beautiful Performing Arts Center, in which each participant will have the opportunity to shine and show off skills learned. Come in and join the fun!

Summer of STEM
A Summer STEM program introduces young learners to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on activities and inquiry-based learning. It aims to foster curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaboration among students. Through engaging activities, students explore real-world applications of STEM concepts, sparking interest and enthusiasm for these subjects early on. The curriculum may also integrate elements of creativity and innovation, encouraging students to explore their interests and pursue further studies in STEM fields. Let’s learn about money! This 1-week program will provide rising 3rd and 4th grade students with fun and exciting activities to learn basic money skills, including currency recognition and values, skip counting, rounding, making change, using decimals and fractions, graphing, solving real-world money problems, estimating cost of goods and services, shopping and buying, understanding wants versus needs, learning the value of earning, simple budgeting, using money, learning vocabulary, and creating money journals.

Summer Sports Camp
We will teach the rules, techniques and skills needed to successfully participate in the following sports and activities. Basketball, volleyball, pickleball and strength & agility training. We will cover and practice the basic rules, strategies and drills needed for each activity in the morning and play games in the afternoon after lunch. This camp is for all students regardless of athletic background or prior experience in a particular sport or activity. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that is school appropriate and bring water or a sports drink to help stay hydrated. Lunch will be provided but they are welcome to bring a light healthy snack if desired. The emphasis will be on having fun and learning something new and not on winning & losing. All ability levels are welcome!

Creative Canvas
Embark on a journey of artistic exploration and self-expression with "Creative Canvas," a dynamic summer art class designed specifically for rising 5th to 7th graders. Led by experienced instructors, this immersive program offers a vibrant blend of painting and drawing techniques aimed at fostering creativity, honing skills, and igniting passion for the visual arts.
Throughout the camp, students will delve into various mediums, from classic pencil sketches to vibrant acrylic paintings, providing them with a well-rounded understanding of different artistic methods and styles.
Key components of the class include:
1. Fundamental Drawing Techniques: Students will learn the essentials of drawing, including line, shape, form, and perspective. Through a series of fun exercises and projects, they will develop their observational skills and grasp the basics of composition and proportion.

Find Your Center
Do you like to play outside? How about moving your body for fitness? Then you will want to join Find Your Center! Find Your Center is a fitness-based program that teaches students to focus on their breathing(self-regulation), find balance in their everyday life, and focuses on supporting each other. Students will learn new yoga poses each day and learn what it means to be in control of their mind and body. They will participate in various yoga sessions, fitness classes, and team building activities.

Math Magicians
Think math is boring? Think again! Students will engage in challenging and thought-provoking activities while developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities which will benefit them both in and out of the classroom.
Students will work in a supportive and collaborative environment where they will engage with their peers while working together on challenging problems while they enhance their overall learning experience.
Students will be involved with cooperative learning, hands-on activities, math games. manipulatives and critical thinking while they explore addition and subtractions strategies, word problems, geometry, measurement and so much more!
Students will leave with an appreciation of math on their way to become life-long learners in the field of mathematics.

Soccer Camp
The game of soccer sets students up for success by teaching TEAMWORK, PERSEVERANCE, and DECISION MAKING that students will be able to apply in all aspects of their lives. Additionally, soccer helps students to learn to deal with setbacks, anticipate opportunities, cooperate with others and problem solving. My goal is to use soccer as a source to enhance students' physical abilities as well as critical thinking skills. Providing these enrichment opportunities for our students outside of the classroom environment will allow the students to see the value of these skills in additional areas of life and gives opportunities for successful application.

Cub Scout Experience
The Cub Scout Experience is a coed first-hand look into the activities and adventures that Cub Scouts offers. Students will learn the ranks and expectations of what a cub scout is today. From citizenship awareness to character development and personal fitness, we will dive into some of the requirements expected of scouts. Students will also experience how to manage simple first aid, take part in a nature hike, learn how to set up a tent, and build STEM projects. Students will be leaving this experience saying, “Scout Me In!” This will be great exposure to the new cub scouting program that coincides with 2024-25 school year when packs begin recruiting at local schools.

Introduction to Crochet!
During this hands-on program students will learn how to read patterns, hold a hook, work with yarn, and practice some basic crochet stitches. Beginner projects will be worked on together to build confidence for any future intermediate patterns the students wish to create individually.

Pokemon Trainers Club
This program will offer instruction in how to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG), how to build decks, and provide opportunities for playing and trading. Trainers (students) will bring their pokemon cards and trade with either (with parent approval/consent for trading). Trainers will also have ample opportunities to implement their knowledge of the rules and regulations for play. They will be taught the ethics and player to player considerations. This will aid the development of their social interactions- turn-taking, compromising, leadership, how to treat others' property, etc.

Snack Making, Block Printing!
This is a cooking and art class! Students will learn how to block print designs and cook simple snacks/fun meals. We will cook something each day, write down the recipe to take home, and work on our blocking printing art project. What is block printing? It is when we carve into a block to create our own stamp.

Bringing Stories to Life Through STEM
The purpose of this enrichment program is to engage students in stories through read alouds and STEM activities that go along with the stories. Students will learn that storytelling doesn't only mean writing with a pencil and paper or drawing pictures. With fun creative activities and projects that let kids "make" elements of their stories or "tell" their stories in unusual ways, you can combine storytelling with science, technology engineering, and math. Students will be using STEM concepts as they design, craft, build, and share their projects from the stories. The process can be magical, transformative, confidence-building, and a lot of fun!

Blast Off to Creativity and find your inner artist! Come join us to explore the world of creativity through a variety of art projects and creations. Everyone is an artist and will enjoy creating many exciting projects that focus on various elements of art. We will explore our creativity through drawing, painting, building, digital art, and much more! We will use iPads to document all our wonderful creations throughout the program. Fitness Camp Fun and Learning
Participants will take part in a preassessment of fitness to set a baseline score of current fitness levels. They will immerse into ways to improve fitness levels and wellness by exploring goal setting strategies, nutrition, finding variety in exercise choices, and the importance of reflection and reassessment of goals when improving fitness levels. An understanding of the five components of fitness, as well as science connections, will also be intertwined in the curriculum. Successes will be celebrated with medals on the last day of Camp!

Beyond the Box - Creative Thinking and Problem Solving
This weeklong camp with challenge students to conquer complex problems as a team and work together to find solutions in a creative way. They will work together and use critical thinking skills to create props and a script to solve a fun and creative problem. Students will solve spontaneous problems where they can polish their quick-thinking skills and become better problems solvers while having fun.

Sign Language (ASL) For Beginners
This program's curriculum will include the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). For example: alphabet, colors, numbers, greetings, basic conversational questions, finger-spelling, body language and facial expressions, etc. This is not a comprehensive list. The days will consist of direct instruction, partner/group practice, opportunities for student presenting of knowledge, potential crafts and/or worksheets- tangible materials to take home and aid in student learning. Open to all ages. The same content will be provided to everyone. Activities can be adapted based on age. This will be led by a school-based, Master's level Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), who works at R.L. Stevenson Elementary School of the Arts. The instructor has a basic working knowledge of ASL and wants to share it!

Calling all Young Authors!!! Have you always wanted to write your own story? This week we will embark on a creative writing adventure where we explore techniques to both improve and expand our writing in a fun and engaging way. Our end task will be a completed hardback book. Throughout the week as we are planning and writing, we will learn numerous strategies to strengthen character development, build suspense, develop a plot, and add elaboration to story writing. Bring your imagination and all the ideas you can think of!

Camp Half-blood! Gods and Titans and Monsters- Oh My! A week of Greek Mythology
Camp Half-blood! Gods and Titans and Monsters- Oh My! Zeus, Poseidon, Persephone, Hades, Medusa, and more! A week of immersion in Greek Mythology to understand them and how they relate to modern day fiction such as Percy Jackson. We will dive deep into the Greek Myths, learning the stories that define them. We will create crafts, write our own myths, decide what camp we would belong to, research myths that interest us, and dig deep into the book “Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan.

Island Summer Band Camp
No experience with band necessary for this camp! Welcome to all students interested in band; this wee- long band intro is full of musical enrichment for students learning a wind or percussion instrument (not strings) with some limited spots for guitar/bass. Here are the courses offered:
Beginning Band; Advanced Band; Jazz Band; Percussion Ensemble
Additionally we will have a performance at the end of the second week and get to have fun themed days, outdoor collaboration, and much more!
