Season Recap: Jayla Antomachi Caps Stellar Year with Records, Medals, and Statewide Recognition
Shaler Area junior Jayla Antomachi concluded a remarkable 2025 track and field season by emerging as one of the state’s elite throwers. Dominating both shot put and javelin, Jayla’s journey was marked by personal bests, school records, and two PIAA state medals—all while balancing her role on the Titans’ varsity softball team.
Placed 4th in shot put with a throw of 37' 1.5"
March 2 – PTFCA Indoor State Championships: Turned in one of the top performances of the season with a personal best of 39' 8", solidifying her place among Pennsylvania’s best.
Jayla's throw of 39' 8" closed out the 2024-25 indoor season with a PA #11 ranking
Jayla sprinted from the shot put circle to the softball field and back to the javelin runway claiming 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 36' 7" and 1st in javelin with a throw of 118' 8"

Seeded 15th, unleashed four personal bests out of six throws:

Jayla’s season continues on the softball diamond, where she will compete in the WPIAL Softball Championship Game next Wednesday, May 28th. Her incredible spring—spanning two sports—cements her as one of the top all-around athletes in the WPIAL.
