Jayla Antomachi came into the PIAA State Track and Field Championships from placing 3rd in the WPIAL and with a 17′ improvement in the javelin. As the number 7 seed, best 9th grader, and first time Shaler Area female javelin state qualifier, Jayla maintained a position for the finals.
Going into the finals Jayla had a wonderful series of throws, finishing out the day improving upon her own school record. Jayla had 6 throws better than any regular season best throw. She finished off the day with a throw of 130′ 5″ and taking 7th in the 3A girls javelin.

Jayla finished the day with a 3rd place finish in the javelin. This performance in the WPIAL Championships qualifies Jayla for the PIAA State Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 27th at 12:30pm

Hannah Sahr ran a person best time of 1:01.77 in the 400m run, placing 1st overall at the Seneca Valley 9/10 Invitational. This time also broke the previous meet record.
Daniel Presto came out in the preliminary round at the 58th Annual Butler Invitational setting a personal best time in the 100m with a run of 11.60
Bella Battaglia hit a new personal best in the Triple Jump at the met against Butler and Pine-Richland with a jump of 34' 4 1/4". This currently ranks Bella in the top 24 in the WPIAL.
Octavia Dixon set 2 new personal best performances. In the long jump, Octavia jumped into the #6 all-time Shaler Area long jump with a jump of 17' 2". She also landed #10 in the 200m with a time of 26.68

A few Shaler Area Titans traveled to West Mifflin for the TSTCA Outdoor Championships. Among the Titans that traveled Jayla Antomachi came away with an 8th place in the javelin with a throw of 109' 10". This throw puts Jayla #8 in the Shaler Area Track and Field History. In the shot put, Jayala put out a throw of 34' 7.5" placing 4th. This throw puts Jayla #6 in the Shaler Area Track and Field History. Jayla's efforts earned her 6 points on the day.

The Titans came out in their last home section track and field meet against Fox Chapel with some great performances and many athletes stepped up their contribution level to the team.
Jayla Antomachi took a 1st place finish in the discus with a throw of 94' 2" and in the shot put with a new personal best of 35' 6". This throw puts Jayla in the #3 all-time Shaler Area list behind Melissa Weeden and WPIAL Shot Put Champion (2016) Juilia Bernesser.
Octavia Dixon continues to impress in the Long Jump and on the track. She took a 1st place in the Long Jump and 200m. Octavia came off they day with a total of 10 points for the Titans. Octavia impressed the long jumpers with a jump of 17' 2". This jump improves her personal best jump and sets her just outside the #5 all-time Shaler Area long jump and continues to keep her in the #6 all-time Shaler Area. Octavia has her sites set on the school record, of 18' 0.5 set back in 2014 by Shaler Area Athletic Hall-of-Famer, Tori Soeder .
Senior, Bella Battaglia comes off with a BIG PR (personal record) DAY in the triple jump and long jump. Bella took 1st in the triple jump with a jump of 34' 4.25" and 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 16' 2".
In the 4x100m relay (Izzy Dutkovic, Bella Battaglia, Octavia Dixon, and Victoria Peterson) the Titans came up short by .05 seconds but setting a season personal best. Each meet, the Titans have improved thier time. Thet dropped thier times under 51 seconds and ran a time of 50.59

The last time Jayla competed was in the PTFCA Indoor State Championships, placing 12th in the shot put. She came out taking three 1st place (shot put, discus, and javelin) finishes against North Hills and two 1st place (shot put and discus) and one 2nd place (javelin) finish against North Allegheny.
