FICTION WRITING WORKSHOP

The emphasis of this class is on students writing and discussing their own short stories. Topics are variable and will be driven by the interests and needs of those in the class. Several writing exercises will be presented to help generate story ideas, develop compelling characters andarrive at satisfying endings. JOB INTERVIEW STRATEGIES

There is no one size fits all when it comes to job interviews. We will create a strategy that enhances your confidence, prepares you to articulate your skills and increases opportunities for success.We will discuss different types of interviews and how to prepare/present yourself during the interview. Learn what interviewers are looking for, how to handle difficult questions along with the types of questions you should pose to the interviewers. Instructor: Barnosky.

PHOTOGRAPHY-BEGINNING 35MM/DIGITAL FILM

Learn to use your camera in the manual exposure mode (not focus) and the application of shutter speeds, apertures, flash, and composition. Learn through slide programs, workshops, shooting assignments, etc.Bring SLR camera (needs to have interchangeable lenses), manual and old photos to critique the first day of class. Please do not bring "point and shoot" cameras.Some workshops may be scheduled outside of listed class day and times.Instructor: J. Thomas

SHORT STORY WRITING AND APPRECIATION

An examination of literary structure, style and technique as they apply to writing the unique form of fiction called a short story. Some class time will be spent on reading and discussing select short stories, but the ultimate goal will be for each student to finish the class having written at least one complete short story of their own. STRICTLY STUDIO-PHOTOGRAPHY

Class will consist of indoor/outdoor shooting sessions. Learn various lighting techniques, how to pose people, and camera techniques that will help you take better photos.Prerequisite: Beginning Photography.  Instructor: J. Thomas.
