Hi! I'd like you to start by watching this short video.
When my former oboe teacher and now friend, Alex Klein, taught himself recorder, he played with his right hand on top. You'll notice that he's playing oboe with his left hand on top. He told me that it was extremely difficult to make the switch.
All woodwind instruments are built to be played with the left hand on top. So, if I wag my finger at you for playing recorder with your right hand on top, just know that I'm doing it out of care and respect.
This is the last movement of Mozart's Quartet for Oboe and Strings. I think you'll like it.

A concerto is a piece written for a soloist (or group of soloists) and an orchestra.
There's an old joke. A student came up to his teacher and said, "Teacher Teacher! Did you know that Vivaldi wrote FIVE HUNDRED Concertos?" The teacher smiled and said, "No. Vivaldi only wrote ONE concerto. But he wrote it five hundred times."
It's kind of true. A lot of Vivaldi's music sounds similar. But it's no less glorious for that.
