Erin Dong

Academic Counselor

Ms. Dong is a San Francisco native, having attended Alice Fong Yu Alternative School for K-8th grade education, and then graduated from Galileo High School. Ms. Dong moved away from home to attend UC Irvine, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Urban Studies. After undergrad, she studied abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for one month. Ms. Dong then moved home to explore community work and volunteer at then District Supervisor Jane Kim's office. There she experienced various community issues and worked with the team to provide support for the homeless and low income populations in the Tenderloin. After this eye-opening experience, Ms. Dong went back to her roots of youth work and decided to pursue a career in school counseling. Two years later, Ms. Dong graduated with a Masters of Science in Counseling at SF State. Before coming to Washington, she worked at Berkeley Community College as a general academic counselor, and at San Mateo High School as the ELD Counselor. Ms. Dong is proud to call the Washington community her "home". Feel free to drop by and say hi, and looking forward to a great school year!
