Ms. Romero is originally from the East Coast where she grew up as an Army brat. She attended multiple elementary, middle, and high schools. She's lived in Germany, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Her father is from the Philippines and her mother is Italian and Czechoslovakian. She has grown up in and with a lot of different cultures. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Special Education. She taught Special Education before the transition to being a counselor. She has worked in several schools in the city as a former Learning Center Director at St. Ignatius College Preparatory, and a teacher at City Arts and Tech High School and Gateway High School. She also served as an Academic Counselor at Thurgood Marshall High School. Ms. Romero loves being a counselor and helping students figure out their path after high school whether it is a four-year college, junior college, or trade/technical school.
