Lesson 5-8: Reflect and Prepare Presentation of App
Objective: Be able to tell the story of your app
Design Project Guidebook Pages:
What have you learned about computer science or design thinking from the process of creating your app?
You will be making a 3 minute presentation to your class. You can use this template.
Make sure to include:
What the problem is
What the app does / how it addresses the problem
Future developments (additional features that will come with the full version of the app)
Also consider:
Engage! How will you get the audiences attention?
Inform! What information will you include?
Inspire! Why should others use the app?
Storytelling is super important in helping others understand how your app addresses a real problem. Reflect on how your research and interviews with users (your peers) led to the development of your app.
Example:
We created (the title of your solution): Educanimal in order to help (a person you interviewed, or your user/audience): students who care about endangered species (what your solution helps people do) easily find out and share photos and information about the animals that need the most help so they can educate others through social media and raise money for animal conservation groups because we learned that (an insight from your research that inspired your design) they would like to participate in activities to save the animals.
In Design Thinking, the process of creating the app can be valuable as the app itself, if not more. Fill-in the organizer to show the process of how your app changed from the initial version, to the MVP, and what you would include if you had more time.
If you are using an e-portfolio, add your final project and answer the reflection questions:
What did you learn while building your MVP?
What mistakes did you make along the way?
If you were to start again from the beginning, what would you do differently?
If you finish early: Design Challenges
