Technology 7 

Technology Education 7 is an exploratory, hands-on course designed to help students understand the resources, systems, and impacts of technology on society. Through laboratory-based, experiential learning, students engage in the design process and discover how creativity and innovation influence everyday life.

Students will investigate the history, evolution, and impact of automation and robotics while learning about mechanical systems, energy transfer, and computer control systems. Using a robotics platform, they will design, build, and program a range of mechanisms, applying fundamental engineering principles and problem-solving strategies.

Throughout the course, students are challenged and empowered to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios—demonstrating how technology can improve quality of life and promote inclusive solutions.

Intro to Coding and App Design Grade 8

Everyone can code with Swift! In this interactive class, students will use the iPad to code using Apple’s Swift language, the same powerful language used to create world-class applications for the App Store. Students will learn the core concepts of programming by writing code to solve puzzles and create small programs called “playgrounds,” see the code run in an interactive 3D world and create their own playground from scratch to take their coding skills to entirely new places. Swift is the perfect way to learn serious code, in a seriously fun way.
