Sequoia High School has a supportive academic and college going culture. No matter where students start as 9th graders, we help connect students with resources and opportunities, and support students with exploring post-secondary options.
What's our academic goal for our students?
Graduation & supporting their post-secondary pathway.
A passing grade for graduation is a D-. We encourage aiming for a C- or higher for A-G eligibility, Financial Aid for higher ed, and in order to advance in Math, Science, and World Language.

Concurrent Enrollment/Dual Enrollment
Since August 2020, the SUHSD will not issue principal’s certification for a university, online program, supplemental education center, and/or course publisher that does not have their own UC approved course list, even if they are accredited. SUHSD will not accept these courses for graduation or A-G. If students take these courses, they can report them on their college applications, but SUHSD will not allow them on our transcripts for graduation or A-G. It is the student and parent/guardians responsibility to contact colleges to see if they will honor the courses to meet college admissions requirements.
SUHSD Board Policy
9-11th graders must take six classes at their assigned high school and 12th graders must take a minimum of five classes at their assigned high school. Students may take a maximum of 40 credits (requirement and elective) may be earned by dual/concurrent enrollment throughout a student’s high school career through private institutions, online, or community colleges (institutions must be WASC accredited).
