The benefits of taking dual enrollment through Chabot College include:
Exploring topics outside of high school. While certain high schools only offer a short range of courses, through Chabot you have the opportunity to engage in subjects like Business, Ethnic Studies and much more.
You earn College Credits for FREE. SEO pays for all of your fees while taking this course with our program. Additionally, we make sure every course we offer is UC/CSU transferrable. This means you will save time and money WHILE you are in college.
This is different from taking an AP Course. You have to pass your AP Exam to receive College Credit for that course. When taking Chabot, you receive College Credit AND the GPA boost as long as you pass the course!
You receive a GPA boost. If you pass your Chabot Courses with an A, you receive a 5-point letter grade boost in your weighted GPA. This plays a major role when you begin applying to college. This boost can put you within the range of students who are accepted to top schools.
If you are serious about taking a second class, you can enroll in a Chabot course independently.
CANVAS
Canvas is how you will access your Chabot College course assignments, grades, and resources!
There are a few reasons why you may not see your course in Canvas yet. If you cannot see your course in Canvas, please reach out to your Program Manager and CSI Instructor immediately!
You have not completed your course application and enrollment paperwork. If your paperwork is not completed, you cannot get access to your course on Canvas.
You just finished completing your enrollment paperwork. It takes a few days for Chabot College to approve your signatures and add you to the class. To avoid this delay, please make sure to do your enrollment forms BEFORE classes start every semester.
Your class has not started yet. Some professors keep their Canvas courses "hidden" until the first day of class. If you are unsure if this is the case, please reach out to your PM or your CSI Instructor.
USERNAME: Your username is your W Number (begins with W followed by 8 digits)
You can find your W# by logging into CLASS-Web with your SSN. Go to the Personal Information tab, and click 'What is my W ID?"
SEO keeps records of all W# here: Scholar W# Spreadsheet.
PASSWORD: The default Password for Canvas is the first two letters of your first name, followed by the first two letters of your last name (all lowercase), followed by the last four digits of your W number.
Example: Maria Valdez with a WNumber of W98765432 would log in as:
Username: W98765432
Password: mava5432
If you are ready to log in, Click here to be redirected to the Canvas Log-in Website.

You should now see final grades and credits for all previously completed semesters with Chabot College.
Method 1: Providing Unofficial Transcript (Most Common)
Transferring your credits is simple, quick, and student-led! Most schools will accept your unofficial transcript.
Log into My Portal.
In the "Classic CLASS-Web" box in the top left corner of the home page, click on "Student Services."
Click on "Student Services" tab at the top
Click on the "Student Records" hyperlink written in blue
Click on "Unofficial Academic Transcript"
Click "Submit"
Click the "Print this page" button and download unofficial transcript as a pdf.
Email the unofficial transcript to your high school counselor and ask for your Chabot College credits to be added to your high school transcript. Example template below.
"Hi Mr./Mrs./Mx. [Last Name],
My name is [Full Name] and I am in [x] grade. I took and passed a college course with Chabot College last [fall, spring, summer]. I have attached my unofficial transcript form Chabot College to this email. Could you please add my college credits for [course name] to my high school transcript? If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you!
Best,
[name]
Method 2: Providing Official Transcript (Less Common)
If your school requires you to send your official transcript to transfer your credits, there are two methods of ordering your official transcript.
Method 1 - Online orders through Parchment! Quick & payment required.
Method 2 - Email/In-Person orders through Chabot Admissions & Records Office. Slower & first two official transcripts are free.
You can view those methods here on the Chabot College website.
To "remediate" a failed grade means to retake the same course and earn a passing grade.
If you earned a failed grade in your Chabot College course, you will need to retake the same exact course.
For example, if you took ES1: Introduction to Ethnic Studies, you must take ES1 again. You cannot take a similar course, such as ES5, to remediate your grade for ES1.
Check in with your PM to see if SEO will offer the same course again through Chabot. If not, your PM can help you enroll in the Chabot course independently.
Once you earn a passing grade, the new grade will replace your old grade. Your GPA will not only go up from the fixed grade, but you will also receive a BOOST from passing a college course!
NOTE: A failing grade is anything below a C-, anything C- and above is considered a passing grade.
If you drop before the the NGR deadline:
Students who drop before the drop with No Grade of Record (NGR) due date will not have a grade appear on their transcript (It’s as if you never took the course).
NGR deadline is usually the first two weeks after your first class started.
If you withdraw from a course after the NGR deadline:
When you withdraw from a course, you will receive a “W” as a grade. “W” grades do not affect your GPA. Excess “W” notations, however, may result in poor progress or dismissal status and may affect financial aid, athletic eligibility, veterans education benefits or priority registration (SEO does not recommend withdrawing from a course. Unless, we've spoke to you, your counselors, and parent/guardians. Too many W’s will affect your college admissions).
Note: Instructors have the option of dropping students who:
Do not attend either of the first two class meetings; or,
Have excessive absences (four consecutive or six cumulative hours).
ZONEMAIL
The default password is your date of birth (mmddyyyy) an eight-digit PIN.
