Financial applications and certain educational opportunities are based on parent/guardian income tax information. For that reason, SEO collects this information each year.
In order to best advise and support your Scholar, SEO must have these documents on file to verify accuracy and eligibility.

If the Scholar works and/or files taxes, Scholars should also submit their documents to SEO.
SEO will request documents during tax season. Tax Day is April 15, 2026.
Please submit these documents to SEO once taxes have been filed or by April 29, 2026. If you will request a tax-filing extension, please have your Scholar inform SEO.

Please submit any of the applicable documents that you receive from the list below.
Form W-2 records employment income. It reports total wages for the year and the amount of federal, state, and other taxes withheld from each paycheck.
Form 1040 is an IRS tax form used for personal federal income tax returns filed by United States residents. Please share pages 1 and 2 and all Schedules.
Form 1099 records non-employment income (any income that isn't recorded in a person's wages or salary). There are many types of 1099s, such as 1099-MISC and 1099-DIV.

Untaxed disability benefits and workers compensation
Untaxed portions of IRA and pension distributions, excluding rollovers
Child support received
Tax-exempt interest income
Veterans non-education benefits
Most recent bank and brokerage account statements
Cash, savings, and checking account balances
Records of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investments
Business, farm, and other real estate records, including any mortgages
