Who are we?
Selah High School is the greatest public school in the central region of Washington State. As a teacher here, I may be a touch bias - but I get to write the webpage text, so you'll permit me a little chance to gloat. The contents of this page are produced by students (and even occasionally staff) of Selah High School.
What is an Edda?
The Poetic Edda and Prose Edda are two of the oldest sources for Norse Mythology and tell the stories you may be familiar with of Thor, Oden, Freya, Loki, and other Norse myths. The term Edda is from old Norse and literally means song, spirit, or poem.
Why?
We have amazing students. As teachers, we see this work daily and feel Viking Pride for the way students are learning and developing in their crafts and skills. We wanted a place to share this work with the community and thus, during the pandemic of 2020, was born the idea of the Digital Edda. An online literary arts magazine for students
A Note on Editing
Work submitted to the Digital Edda is posted unedited. Please keep in mind, the featured artists here are students and as such are learning their craft. All work is owned by students and we ask that it not be copied or distributed outside of this site.
How do I submit?
All submissions must include a title, student name, and grade. Send work to jonmcclintick@selahschools.org for submission.
Teachers: Ensure you have student permission before sending work for publication.
Students: If you have work you'd like featured, you can self-submit at anytime.
