This micro epic portrait is an experimental, Bollywood style film interrogating fame, fans, body image and celebrity culture through the eyes of an adoring Directioner.

Is this love only skin deep? Can the wild woman beneath reveal her true colours?

This video art work is one woman’s journey of self-discovery, ecstatic dance and love.

Hanging on the wall is a rectangular pink poster depicting two images of Alex. The larger background image shows Alex’s body from head to waist wearing a black T-shirt and arms raised so that her hands are touching her glasses. The foreground image, in black and white, captures Alex in a Bollywood dance move with the text on the bottom right hand corner of the poster saying What Makes you Beautiful? Some of the letters are backwards so that the word SEE can be revealed and also offering a sense of beauty in eyes that see letters in different ways.

There is a sandstone niche in the back wall where two One Direction plastic dolls hold a mobile phone showing the music video of What Makes you Beautiful. There is a set of headphones on a stand near the poster. The audience are invited to listen to the soundtrack of the video by wearing the headphones.

This is a short music video starring Alex who dreams of marrying all of the One Direction band members, Bollywood style.  

Alex loves pink, she is lying on the ground with a pink chiffon like fabric draped over her with a full length mirror as the back drop.

Bollywood music plays as Alex seductively snakes her arms and wiggles her hips as Ken-like One Direction plastic dolls ride past on a horse. Desert scenes, lush green forests and Alex sitting atop an elephant fill the screen finishing with Alex framed in a joyous pose with coloured pink lights surrounding her. This is what makes her beautiful.
