Roseacre Hub Opening

It was an absolute delight to attend the Roseacre Hub official opening on 14th December 2018. There was an air of excitement as we walked into the school. Members of the Roseacre Resilience Committee were anxiously waiting to show us to our seats. We were seated in the hall and the committee told their story, the story of creating the Roseacre Hub!

Sam Richardson, Headstart Youth Engagement Worker, had supported their journey. Together they developed an action plan, made a successful innovation fund bid and saw the project through to the grand opening. Each member confidently took part in the presentation.

Following the presentation, the Head teacher Mrs Carroll officially opened the Hub. Inside there were a variety of activities available for the staff, parents and carers, Resilience Committee members and visitors to take part in; all based around the Boingboing Resilience Framework and of course bacon/vegetarian butties (these were deemed to be essential by the Resilience Committee!).

It was clear from the confident way the pupils presented and answered questions, that the development and opening of this hub was truly co-produced. Co-production is one of the core values of the Headstart Resilience Revolution and this project demonstrates just how effective it can be when pupils are truly at the heart of the process
