Lancashire Mind, who have been delivering Bounce Forward for the past 3 years in Blackpool primary schools, will begin their last term!

Bounce Forward is a 10-week universal, resilience programme, which was commissioned by HeadStart. The programme’s aims are to raise resilience of children and young people aged 10-16 in Blackpool; it aims to help decrease the risk of children developing mental ill health in the future.

Bounce Forward also aims to help with the transition to high school and gives the children practical strategies to help cope with tough times.

Our sessions embed the Children and Young People’s Resilience Framework that was originally created by Professor Angie Hart, then co-produced again by Blackpool pupils for children and young people. We have session such as: Positivity Glasses. In this session, the children think about how to be thankful by creating a gratitude journal, we also think about having hope, then we end with making their own pair of positivity glasses. They can then use their glasses to think about the brighter side of life, to remember the positives, think about what they are looking forward to and remember tomorrow is another day! We end with a showcase, which is the children’s way of spreading their new resilience skills and knowledge.

With only 1 term left, the team are very excited about going back to schools to meet their new classes and deliver the programme.
