Anchorsholme - Resilience after the Flood!

Introducing the famous duo, Ethan and Warren, who attended Anchorsholme Primary Academy.

This vlog was co-produced by Ethan, Warren and Anchorsholme Academy to show how resilient the staff had been after experiencing a severe flooding at their school.

This idea was developed from an initial conversation around resilience. The boys were inspired by the Resilient Framework and came together to develop a survey. This survey was used to highlight how their peers coped through tough times and what strategies they used to make them feel better and remember that tomorrow is another day.

After speaking with the boys and reflecting on how young people cope through tough times, it was suggested that it would be a great idea to ask the teaching staff how they managed through the recent flooding. This promoted discussion amongst school staff, the boys and the Resilience Coaches, Jo and Josh.

Following this discussion, the boys found time for their talents and created a vlog to show how their school had coped through this tough time. Supporting them on this journey was Mr Morley, the music teacher, who showed great enthusiasm with this project and we are very grateful for how much time and effort he has put into this. Furthermore, we’d like to say thank you to Mr Dow, the Head Teacher, for his starring role and for providing the opportunity to highlight the importance of staying positive and leaning on others through tough times.

Special thanks to Ethan and Warren who have shown tremendous resilience throughout the making of this video. Although it has taken a while to produce and it has had its ups and down along the way, everyone has shown true Resilience. Ethan and Warren we have enjoyed the journey with you and we are extremely proud of what you’ve achieved so far. You’ve both got a bright future ahead of you and we are very proud of how well you’ve settled into high school.

We can’t wait to see the return of the Duo!

Watch this space! Keep an eye out for a special sequel that shows their learning experiences and we are hoping that the wonderful Mr Morley continues to enlist other young people and foster their talents through projects like this.
