Career and Technical Education at Waiʻanae High School
Waiʻanae High School offers 11 of 13 new pathways in Career and Technical Education (CTE). CTE pathways consists of programs of study (POS) that offer a sequence of courses to prepare students for the workplace as well as further education. At the high school level, a CTE program of study begins with a Level 1 Foundations course, followed by beginning and advanced courses, and concludes with a Level 4 work-based learning experience. Work-based learning experiences include but are not limited to on and/or off campus internships. Programs of study are selected by students based on career goals and/or interests. Completing an interest survey, exploring POS offerings, and communicating with program instructors and current and past students are some suggested activities to help students make an informed choice for their program selection.
