Tech lessons for Students
Tech Lessons to help students learn to use the Chromebooks, it's tools, and where to go to get tech help.
Presentation
This presentation gives a general overview of basic care, insurance, what happens if the Chromebook is damaged, how much repair and replacement costs, and more.
This interactive lesson is broken into 4 sections that allows students to learn what their Chromebook can do by actually trying out the tools. Students will then have a chance to practice what they've learned using the Chromebook Training Game. There are teacher notes (in speaker notes) and embedded discussion questions to help students reflect on how different tools can not only benefit them but those who may have different learning styles/needs.
Recommendation for use:
Review each group of tools as a class.
Give students time to explore the links and try them out on their Chromebook. Share the published link with students to make it easier for them to access the links.
Use discussion questions for each group of tools to summarize what they learned.
Depending on time constraints, give students time to play the Chromebook Training Game. This can be done at the same time as the other sections or on another day.
This activity guides students through key websites to see what resources and support are available to them. They fill in the chart with a brief summary of what the topic/resource is, a link to it, and personal notes or screenshots so they have a document to reference when they need help.
Recommendation for use:
Make a copy of the document to save it in your own Drive.
* Feel free to customize it for your school and class. (You can remove the other school logos in the header if you just want your own school logo.)
* The Universal Supports section has a part where you will need to add a tool you plan to use in class.Share as an assignment in Google Classroom using the "Make a copy for each student" option.
Activity
* This is the same game that is included in the What's Inside activity above.
