Biology instructors at Torrey Pines work closely with one another to ensure a strong, coordinated curriculum with consistent expectations and grading policies. Grading is based on scores earned from tests, class assignments, labs, projects, and any extra credit work/activities**. Scientific Collaboration, Behavior, and Participation are also considered when determining final grades.
In general, there is a test every four to six class meetings, covering a specific unit. A variety of formative (knowledge development) checks for understanding also factor into grade calculations.
Final semester grades are NOT rounded.
Students are responsible for monitoring their scores on tests, quizzes, homework, etc.
Grades can be checked via the AERIES Student Information System.
