Grade Policy

Grading

Biology instructors at Torrey Pines work closely with one another to ensure a strong, coordinated curriculum with consistent expectations and grading policies.

Grading is based on a scores earned from assessments, class assignments, labs, projects, and any extra credit**.  In general, there is a test every four to six class meetings, covering a specific unit or "Big Idea," and a variety of formative (knowledge development) checks for understanding.

The science department at Torrey Pines does not round grades.

Students are responsible for monitoring their scores on tests, quizzes, homework, etc.

Grades can be checked via the AERIES Student Information System, accessible via the internet.  (The Google Classroom grading system will not be used for grade calculation in this course)
