This is my 23th year teaching, and 9th at Torrey Pines High School. My career started at Grossmont High School in La Mesa. During that time, I taught Physical Science, Algebra, Health Occupations, Anatomy and Physiology and Biology. Besides teaching at Torrey Pines, I served 6 years as a coach for our renowned Academic Team and spent one successful season as the JV girls tennis coach. My wife Heather also teaches English, the AP Research course, and Academic Survival at Torrey Pines.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy outdoor activities such as backpacking and surfing. You'll also find me regularly at Mesa Rim climbing some gnarly 5.9s or V0s. I love to travel and have been to some amazing destinations and have led educational trips through Europe and the Galapagos Islands.
I grew up in LA where I went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks. After graduating in 1994, I pursued my college degree in Biology at UC San Diego eventually receiving my B.S. in 1998. After these incredible experiences, I continued my education by attending San Diego State to earn a teaching credential in Biological Sciences. In 2010, I completed my masters degree in Biology at Point Loma Nazarene University.
My wife Heather teaches English at Torrey Pines High School. We have two beautiful daughters, Mia (14) and, Aria (11).
Lunchtime is a great time to get extra help, other times like after or before school may work also as long as an appointment is scheduled with and agreed upon by the instructor.
