Hi! My name is Alexa Pankratz, and I’m so grateful to be serving as the Vice President of SDSU’s SON IVC Student Nurses Association.
Being part of SNA has allowed me to connect with so many amazing classmates and future nurses who share the same passion for helping others. I truly enjoy being on the floor and getting to know my patients, there’s something so special about being able to comfort someone, ease their pain, or simply make their day a little better. Those small, meaningful moments are what remind me why I chose nursing in the first place.
Every department I’ve rotated through has taught me something new, and I’ve loved every step of the journey so far. In the future, I hope to work in the ER or ICU, where I can continue growing and learning in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Outside of school and clinicals, I love listening to music, spending time with my family, and going out with friends to unwind from the stress of nursing school. Finding that balance between hard work and self-care has been so important, and I’m grateful for the people and experiences that keep me grounded and inspired every day.
