Affinity Groups
Who are we?
Affinity groups are dedicated “spaces” within the residential communities to bring students together with common identities and/or experiences to build community. Our goal is to support our residential students in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and advocacy. Students involved in Affinity groups will have the opportunity to host events that enhance the areas of service, advocacy, and community building while holding leadership positions to support the mission of the Affinity Group. Affinity Groups are open to all residential students.
Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to find community though affinity groups
Students will be able to explore their intersectional identities as it pertains to the SDSU Community
Students will be able to bring awareness of affinity groups to the SDSU Community
Students will gain a deeper understanding of their intersectionality through intentional conversation and community
Students will be able to identify SDSU resources based on their perspective identities

Can I start an Affinity Group that is not listed above?
Yes! To begin the process of founding an Affinity Group, please submit a proposal to Amaris Gonzalez (agonzalez23@sdsu.edu)
