Where the Water Meets the Sky by Dez Seaton
My design is inspired by the natural beauty and history of Beaver Lake, especially its fish and surrounding landscape. While researching the lake, I discovered that crappie is one of the most popular fish to catch there, not only because it is delicious to eat, but also because of its unique and beautiful pattern. This inspired me to feature the crappie in my artwork.
I also included the mountains, blufflines, and the sun reflecting on the water to represent the scenery around Beaver Lake. These elements are important because they show the peaceful and natural environment that makes the lake special.
For the colors, I used different shades of blue to symbolize the water and the sky. The sky is a light blue, the deep parts of the lake are dark blue, and I blended those two shades to create the color of the regular water.
When people view my artwork, I hope it helps them appreciate the fish of Beaver Lake and the surrounding landscape, including its mountains and blufflines. My goal is to remind others of the beauty and richness of this local natural environment.
