Craft: Build a bug hotel using recycled materials and things from nature. I will be trying this idea myself! Bugs are a tiny but incredibly important part of our ecosystem.

Craft: Make some pretty suncatchers with recycled materials!

Neighbourhood walk: Do a neighbourhood or beach clean up! Grab a bag and see if you can fill it up so that garbage stays out of our oceans. Make sure to check with your parents first to check if they feel it's safe.

Music: Make recycled tin can chimes. There are many ways to do this, get creative and make something unique using materials you have at home! Here are a few possibilities from Dilly Dally Art and Hands on as we Grow.

Science: Make Homemade Paper! For some extra fun, add wildflower seeds, cut them into ornaments or shapes, and mail them to someone who might need a special surprise to cheer them up!

LEGO: Learn about the layers in soil with this fun idea - then dig a hole (with your parents' permission) and see if you can identify the layers in the soil! Want to learn more? Here's a short video to explain the layers.

In the Kitchen: Make some Earth Toast and find out what might happen if humans don't do enough to prevent global warming.

Movement Activity: This outdoor treasure hunt for things you probably already have in your yard takes a bit of time to set up but is SO fun! The clues are ready for you to print off in the Google Doc below.

Be a Naturalist: Check out this video and activity from the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet, BC and learn about a plant you've probably noticed before in our forests here... because of the unique scent it gives off!
