The following venture pitch is intended as an assignment for ETEC 522: Ventures in Learning Technologies, which is a course in the Master of Educational Technology program at the University of British Columbia in Canada. For this assignment I am taking the role of the leader in the educational technology (EdTech) product PrivaSearch. I have been a public school educator in British Columbia, Canada for ten years, and for the past five years have been teaching computer science at the middle school level. Over the years as an educator I have adopted many online learning tools, and have become frustrated with the lack of readability of the privacy policies that accompany these tools. As a teacher it is my number one priority to ensure the safety of my students, including that of their online security. PrivaSearch's conception is based on the hope that the product will bring reprise to teachers, like myself, when adopting new online EdTech products and their privacy policies.
