CLE encourages students to examine their place in life right now, identifying strengths and opportunities for growth so that they will be well-positioned to enter the working world after high school. Students who take this work seriously will have a plan to ease the transition from high school to adulthood. We will start with building a portfolio that will include assignments from each of the following units:
Build Your Website: Your website lays the groundwork for your Capstone project. You will record your learning over the next three years.
Personal Profile: Create a homepage that celebrates your interests, achievements, talents, hobbies and abilities. Begin to identify the type of work you will both enjoy and find success in.
Career Path: Explore a variety of options available and narrow down your choices for Post-Secondary training and career options and learn the steps necessary to reach your goals.
Job Hunt: Develop the skills needed to find a job now and in the future. Identify ways to be more competitive in the job market.
Digital Footprint: Gain awareness about ways in which your digital footprint impacts your career search positively and negatively and how you can use the online world to continue to develop and market yourself in the career field you choose.
Workplace Safety: Discover the WorkSafe BC Rights and Responsibilities for Workers and Employers and what these mean for you in the workplace. Learn the attitudes and habits that will lead to a safe working environment for you and others.
