Frankenstein, using various masking methods
Frankenstein, using various masking methods
About this picture
I didn't really had a plan or end goal of how I wanted the picture to look. I got some fictional character photos from a show named Smiling Friends. Originally, I wanted to have the other main character of the show, Pim (the purple character, seen in layers "rider-bk" and "cursed-boss-bk"), to ride the horse by drawing the legs. Unfortunately, I was having problems with my drawing tablet I have back home, so I wasn't able to do it. Instead, I took a stock photo of a person riding a horse, then took that person and mask it with the picture. To my surprise, that person was actually a kid, and because I also masked the other character in the show (aka. The Boss) into the horse's butt, it made the picture look really disturbing.
There's nothing much I can really say about the thing I made. It's just a horse with the character's head from the show, a kid, and a creep looking up to the kid from the back of the horse.
Techniques Used:
Pen tool - Used to precisely select and adjust selection. I used this so that the edges of fictional characters look seamless when masking.
(large) Brush tool w/ 0% hardness - This is very useful when masking objects. This helps the translucency of the tail of the horse's body, and helps to make the edges between two object look more connected.
Gradient tool for background - Good for making low-effort masking look good.
