The shape of the Wild Strawberry is like an upside down pyramid. The ones in the grocery store are way bigger. The seeds are very tiny. It's not known as berry. The leaflets grow in a group of three. The leaflets are toothed and rounder than a Salmonberry leaf. A wild strawberry patch is a shrub. (Grade One student)
They grow in shady banks. They grow in the open woods. People eat the berries. They (Saanich and Mainland Comox) made tea with the leaves. (Grade Two student)
