The leaves are green and scaly. The pine cones are the size of my fingernail. The trees grow to 55 meters. They grow in shady forests.

The Cedar Tree can be found on riversides near water and in moist wet soil and in shady forests in North America. They were used by Coast Salish Nations for canoes and homes . The bark was used for cooking. (Grade Three student)
