The Douglas Fir grows up to 70 meters tall. The crown is pyramid shaped. It has droopy branches. It has little needles that are two to three centimeters long. The bark is rough and brown. The pine cones are 5 centimeters long . They have mouse feet and mouse tails sticking out. (Grade 1 student)
It can be found on the coast where it is dry. Some Coastal groups used it to make harpoons and spoons and dip-net poles. (Grade Two student)
